8L PARENTS: Quebec: the permission form for rock climbing went home today.  It must be returned
by Wednesday (signed).  As well, we had a discussion with all of the grade 8s about expectations for Quebec; it would be an ideal dinnertime conversation.

8L PARENTS: Nature walk: the permission forms for this week's nature trip must be in by Wednesday.  Thanks!

ENGLISH
1. Due to the multitude of activities this coming week, the schedule will be slightly wonky.  To clear things up, here are some important dates for you guys to keep in mind:
a. Lit circle #2 will take place on Wednesday
b. The summative movie review will take place on Thursday in the afternoon

c. Day 3 filming was today, Day 4 will be on Wednesday (1 period - so be ready!), and Day 5 on Thursday.

MATH
1. We did 11.1 today and will take up the homework tomorrow (11.1).  We will also be doing 11.2 tomorrow, so those involved in Fit Spirit will have to squeeze that in between lunges and jumping jacks.

ENGLISH
1. Lit circle #3 will take place on Thursday.  Your task is the following: draw a picture or diagram that represents a particular scene from the reading, or perhaps a theme or the conflict.  It's critical that the drawing reveals something deeper about the scene rather than being a realistic image.  For example, you can use symbols to represent ideas raised in the book.  When we get to the presentation of the pictures (lit circle #3), you will show the photo without any comments (at first).  You will then allow the other members to draw interpretations of the drawing before revealing your intentions.  No stick figures!

2. We are continuing our studies in advertising.  The summative task will take place the week after the grade 8 Quebec trip.  For Wednesday, you will hand in your paragraph explaining the LG ad we examined today.

3. Lit. Circle Reflection: Instead of asking his child, "What did you learn at school today," a father said: "What questions did you ask the teacher?"  Why?  What's the difference?  Is this wise?  100-150 words.

MATH
1. We began 8.1 today.  Homework: page 294 - 295 (78% of the questions)
